This role is responsible for developing accurate, timely estimates and proposals for private‑sector sitework projects including: clearing, erosion control, grading, underground utilities, stone, curb, and paving. The ideal candidate brings strong local market knowledge, established relationships, and a detail‑driven approach to preconstruction.
Job Duties & Responsibilities- Analyze and compile estimate data impacting labor, materials, equipment, location, and site conditions to deliver accurate, timely estimates
- Review drawings, specifications, and proposed site conditions; document findings and gather input from field operations to finalize project estimates
- Evaluate alternative construction methods and value‑driven solutions to improve bid competitiveness
- Review and validate quantity take‑offs to ensure accuracy and consistency in estimates
- Utilize historical cost data to benchmark and complete project estimates
- Perform advanced cost calculations and detailed analysis to ensure logical, defensible pricing
- Identify, analyze, and communicate bidding risks and strategies; present estimates to Senior/Chief Estimators for review
- Participate in estimate and bid reviews with senior leadership to support accuracy, completeness, and professional development
- Analyze market conditions and competitor activity; communicate with owners, subcontractors, and public/private entities to maintain competitive positioning
- Communicate bid details and scope assumptions to field operations during preconstruction meetings to ensure alignment before project execution
- 3+ years of sitework estimating experience
- Proficiency with Agtek, B2W, Excel, and Plan Swift/Bluebeam
- Experience performing thorough quantity take-offs
- Familiarity with scheduling software
- Strong local relationships with GCs, developers, vendors, and subcontractors
- 100% paid healthcare (family), vision, PTO, and paid holidays
- Company truck and fuel card
- Base salary $80,000–$150,000, plus year‑end bonus
