The Construction Project Manager will support the project management team in the planning, coordination, and execution of light industrial construction projects. You will be responsible for assisting in all phases of project delivery, from pre-construction through completion, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards. This role requires excellent communication, technical, and problem-solving skills to work effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning: Assist in developing project schedules, budgets, and work plans, ensuring compliance with client specifications and company goals.
- Document Management: Maintain organized and up-to-date project documentation, including plans, specifications, contracts, submittals, and RFIs.
- Cost Control: Monitor and track project costs, helping to manage budget adherence and cost control processes. Assist with change orders and progress billings.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure project work is performed in compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.
- Subcontractor Management: Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure materials and equipment are delivered on time and to required specifications.
- Construction Support: Provide technical support during construction, assisting with problem-solving and on-site challenges. Coordinate project logistics and ensure efficient workflow.
- Client Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients, providing project updates, addressing concerns, and fostering strong relationships.
- Project Closeout: Assist in the project closeout process, including final inspections, punch lists, and the handover of as-built documentation.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in construction project management or engineering, preferably with light industrial or commercial construction.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, AutoCAD, Microsoft Project) and a solid understanding of construction methodologies and practices.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze complex problems and implement practical solutions.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, ensuring accuracy in project management and reporting.
- Certifications: A PE (Professional Engineer) license is a plus but not required. OSHA certification is also an advantage.
