ITG Communications is hiring a Construction Coordinator in Raleigh, NC.

Responsible for overseeing/monitoring the activities on new build, rebuild, extension, expansion, design and planning construction projects to ensure they are completed in accordance with established standards. Administers some aspects of construction activities, including materials, labor, and resource allocation planning. Acts as lead in teams and projects. Has developed knowledge and skills in own discipline. Works with moderate guidance in own area of knowledge.

Responsibilities
  • Compiles and coordinates all phases of construction projects including pre-construction meetings, site surveys, permit and license applications, make-ready, design and documentation, material procurement, contract labor requirements, and plant activation.
  • Assists to plans all facets of the construction process, rendering decision on workflow, production planning and control, material and labor cost control.
  • Works closely with upper management and participates to ensure the execution of projects.
  • Creates cost estimates for new projects, monitors job costs, evaluates change orders and controls the cost of work in progress to budget.
  • Supports technicians and leadership team with coordination of projects.
  • Generates logs and reports on construction, projects, materials, and expenditures.
  • Reviews, resolves, follows-up customer request and complaints.
  • Assists with the annual plant construction budget.
  • Performs on the field ride-out/walk-out of project sites for the purpose of surveying, gathering and recording details, finding solutions, monitoring progress, performing post-construction review.
  • Coordinate, meet and interacts with Government/Town officials and representatives from Utilities, Contractors, outside agencies, consultants and internal business partners on construction related activities to complete mutual and individual goals.
  • Provides technical advice and engineering support to other departments including Procurement, Warehouse, Legal, Government Relations, and Design Center functions.
  • Knowledge of the National Electric Codes
  • Oversees the activity of subcontractors
  • Monitors performance of construction crew to established goals and objectives
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent, and at least two (2) years of experience in Coax/Fiber construction in a supervisory position.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit
  • Ability to use hands to handle or feet
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Extended periods of exposure to computer screen.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
Key Competencies, Skills, Abilities
  • Ability to work as a team.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel, Smartsheet.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings.
  • Knowledge of the physical construction and design of aerial and underground of cable plant including coax & fiber.
