Commercial Flooring Estimator – Raleigh, NC
Our client is seeking a skilled Commercial Flooring Estimator. The role is responsible for delivering accurate and timely material takeoffs, shop drawings, and bid support to the sales team across a wide range of commercial flooring projects. This position supports large‑scale ground‑up construction as well as small‑ to mid‑sized tenant fit‑outs in industries such as healthcare, education, retail, multi‑family, office, manufacturing, and transportation.
The position is a permanent opportunity, located on site in Raleigh, NC. The salary commences at $70,000 and increases with experience. Great benefits are offered. No visa sponsorship, relocation assistance, or subcontracting arrangements are available.
Core Duties- Prepare accurate and detailed quantity takeoffs using Measure Square estimating software
- Develop and review shop drawings, layouts, and necessary revisions/retouches to support project bids
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and bid documents to ensure complete scope coverage
- Manage incoming Invitations to Bid (ITBs) and follow established SOPs from receipt through bid submission
- Deliver estimates and supporting documentation within required timelines aligned with bid deadlines
- Collaborate closely with the sales team and project managers to clarify scope and project requirements
- Review third‑party takeoffs for accuracy and completeness
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of flooring materials, systems, and installation methods
- Participate in weekly estimating meetings and contribute to continuous process improvement
- Demonstrate and actively strive to exemplify the company’s core values in all interactions and work products
- Provide additional support and perform other duties as assigned
- Experience in commercial flooring estimating or a related construction estimating role
- Proficiency with Measure Square or similar estimating software
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents
- Broad knowledge of flooring types and installation processes (e.g., carpet, LVT, tile, wood, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Team‑oriented mindset with the ability to work cross‑functionally
- Acoustic ceiling estimating experience a plus
- Fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment supporting multiple concurrent projects
- Regular interaction with sales, project management, and external partners
