Job Summary
Flux Resources is seeking a Project Office Engineer to join one of our clients in North Carolina. This is a direct-hire opportunity paying in the $130,000–$160,000 range. The position is open to both local and non‑local candidates; the project budget includes lodging and meals and incidentals (M&I) per diem for travel. Ideal candidates will be willing to travel from project to project, even beyond North Carolina and Tennessee if needed, and be comfortable operating in a fast‑paced emergency landslide repair environment.

- Project Name: Blue Ridge Parkway Landslide Repairs
- Project location: McDowell, Mitchell and Yancey Counties, North Carolina. Field office is in Little Switzerland, North Carolina.
- Project Type: Reconstruction and rehabilitation of the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina from Milepost MP 229.6 to MP 305.1, including slide repairs, culvert replacement, pavement reconstruction, pavement markings, and other miscellaneous work.
One (1) Qualified Project Office Engineer (POE) will work closely and cooperatively with the Construction Operations Engineer (COE) and Project Engineer (PE) to provide construction contract administration support on a highway construction project.
- Review construction contractor’s day‑to‑day work and determine acceptability in compliance with the contract, safety plan, environmental controls, construction methods, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Review the construction schedule for compliance with the construction contract and for reasonableness using Primavera or other software.
- Maintain accurate construction contract records and follow established records‑keeping processes.
- Review contractor monthly invoices, material submittals, shop drawings, as‑built drawings, contractor requests, and provide comments and/or recommendations to the Project Engineer.
- Review and recommend acceptance or rejection of daily reports submitted by the contractor.
- Process submittals from receipt through approval and return to the construction contractor.
- Complete the Project Diary, Monthly Progress Estimate, Material Register, status reports, and ensure project files are properly maintained and complete.
