Transportation Technician II​/Inspector

Responsibilities

• Observes, documents, and verifies work in progress by the construction contractor to ensure compliance with contract documents and plans.
• Confirms procedures are followed and material used conforms to specifications.
• Utilizes engineering inspection practices to perform rudimentary mathematical calculations and measurements of completed work to date.
• Maintains Inspector's daily report of assigned work activities, contractor labor and equipment, quantity of material received and verified.
• Assists in on-site material testing and produces as‑constructed sketches as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and at least 1 year of construction experience.
• All required jurisdictional certificates and state requirements.
• Read and understand plans and specifications.
• Recognize, document, and escalated field issues.
• Calculate pay quantities.
• Understand change conditions.
• Understand Microsoft Office Suite and other computer skills at an intermediate level.
• In compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, the candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology.
• Associate degree in Construction Management.
