Overview
Raleigh, NC | Full-Time
We are partnered with a well-established general contractor that is actively seeking an experienced Healthcare Construction Superintendent to lead the field execution of complex healthcare projects throughout the Raleigh market.
Responsibilities- Lead day-to-day field operations on healthcare construction projects from mobilization through closeout
- Manage project schedules and coordinate all subcontractor activities to maintain milestone commitments
- Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans and specifications
- Conduct daily site walks and proactively identify schedule, quality, and constructability issues
- Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Owners, Architects, Engineers, and subcontractors throughout all phases of construction
- Oversee inspections, punch lists, commissioning activities, and project turnover processes
- Drive quality control initiatives and maintain high standards of workmanship across all trades
- Facilitate subcontractor meetings, safety meetings, and site coordination meetings
- Manage site logistics, sequencing, and phasing plans for complex healthcare environments
- Ensure compliance with all OSHA, project safety, and healthcare-specific requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent with a General Contractor
- Proven experience leading healthcare construction projects valued at $10M+
- Experience with hospitals, surgical facilities, medical office buildings, patient care facilities, or healthcare campus expansions
- Strong understanding of healthcare construction requirements, including infection control and occupied renovation considerations
- Experience coordinating complex MEP systems and managing multiple trades simultaneously
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and contracts
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Stable employment history and demonstrated success delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget
- Acute care hospital experience
- Ground-up and major renovation healthcare projects
- Experience managing projects in active hospital environments
- Knowledge of ICRA, interim life safety measures, and healthcare compliance requirements
- Experience with projects exceeding $25M in total construction value
