As an Assistant Project Manager at Choate Construction, you play a key support role in helping guide projects from early planning through successful completion. This position is ideal for professionals with at least three years of experience in a commercial construction–oriented entry‑level role who are eager to grow their careers and take on increased responsibility. Reporting to and working closely with the Project Manager or Senior Project Manager, you will assist with the daily management, coordination, and administration of projects, supporting efforts related to contracting, scheduling, estimating, bidding, and cost control.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Project Manager or Senior Project Manager with daily project management, coordination, and administration.
  • Support contracting, scheduling, estimating, bidding, and cost control activities.
  • Collaborate with the field Superintendent and project team to ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Assist with subcontracts and purchase orders, and communicate potential risks or changes early.
  • Contribute during pre‑construction, logistics, and scheduling efforts to set projects up for success.
  • Participate in construction planning, financial tracking, and BIM/VDC coordination.
Assistant Project Manager – Qualifications
  • Minimum three years of experience in a commercial construction–oriented entry‑level role.
  • Strong commitment to safety, with a willingness to partner with the Project Manager, Superintendent, and Safety team.
  • Detail‑oriented, curious, and proactive in understanding contract requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build respectful relationships with clients, designers, subcontractors, and internal partners.
  • Collaborative mindset, approachable, and supportive of both the Project Manager and field leadership.
  • Desire to grow career and take on increasing responsibility.
