We are looking for a Heavy Civil Estimator to support estimating, bidding, cost analysis, and business development efforts for heavy civil construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects.
  • Review plans, specifications, drawings, addenda, and bid requirements.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs for earthwork, utilities, concrete, paving, sitework, grading, drainage, and related scopes.
  • Analyze labor, equipment, material, subcontractor, and indirect project costs.
  • Use Heavy Bid to build estimates, organize bid items, and support final pricing.
  • Manage bid invitations, subcontractor pricing, vendor communication, and proposal tracking.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
  • Identify project risks, scope gaps, value engineering opportunities, and bid strategy considerations.
  • Support bid reviews, estimate handoffs, project kickoff meetings, and post-bid analysis.
  • Assist business development efforts through client communication, market awareness, and pursuit planning.
Required Experience
  • Heavy civil estimating experience with sitework, utilities, earthwork, roadway, drainage, concrete, paving, or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong ability to complete takeoffs, review construction documents, and develop accurate cost estimates.
  • Experience with cost analysis, bid preparation, subcontractor pricing, and vendor coordination.
  • Working knowledge of HCSS Heavy Bid.
  • Familiarity with Smart Bid or similar bid management software.
  • Ability to understand project scope, construction sequencing, production rates, and field execution.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
