OverviewConti Civil is looking for a motivated and safety‑minded individual to join our team. This role is designed for someone passionate about building a career in safety within the civil construction industry. You will play a key role in promoting and ensuring the health and safety of our employees on project sites, gaining hands‑on experience while being supported by a dedicated safety department of experienced professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in developing and updating the Site Safety and Health Plan (SSHP) under the guidance of senior safety staff.
- Learn and help enforce compliance with safety and health requirements, including federal, state and local laws, OSHA regulations, and Conti Civil’s safety standards.
- Support the implementation of safety procedures and policies, encouraging a culture of safety among all team members, subcontractors and vendors.
- Participate in safety orientations and training sessions, helping to organize and deliver content as your experience grows.
- Assist with daily safety inspections and contribute to maintaining PPE inventory and safety equipment.
- Support senior staff in accident/injury investigations and in the preparation of reports and recommendations for corrective action.
- Engage in safety meetings and planning sessions, offering input and learning best practices in safety management.
- Bachelor’s degree in safety, occupational health, engineering or a related field preferred.
- 1+ year of experience in construction.
- Strong interest in the construction industry, particularly in civil projects, with a keen desire to grow in the safety field.
- Basic knowledge of safety and health standards and eagerness to learn more about regulations (OSHA, DOT, EPA, etc.).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Organizational skills and a proactive attitude toward learning and professional development.
- Familiarity with the MS Office suite and openness to learning new software and systems.
