DescriptionJoin Cooper Tacia General Contracting, a trailblazer in commercial and industrial construction, as an Estimator and become an integral part of our innovative preconstruction team. In this role, you will lead the development of accurate and competitive project cost estimates that are critical to winning and executing successful construction projects. You’ll work collaboratively with project managers, subcontractors, and clients, ensuring our bids are both cost-effective and aligned with project goals.
Responsibilities- Prepare detailed and comprehensive cost estimates for commercial and industrial construction projects, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of drawings, specifications, and project documents to perform precise quantity take-offs.
- Collaborate with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure competitive pricing and accurate cost information.
- Act as the point of contact for clients during the bidding process, addressing scope clarifications, answering questions, and providing cost-related insights.
- Review project scope, schedules, and requirements to develop strategies for effective cost management and resource allocation.
- Provide critical cost information for project adjustments during different phases, ensuring project teams are informed of financial impacts.
- Support project managers during the award and start-up phases by clarifying assumptions, materials, and construction methods included in the estimate.
- Mentor junior estimators, providing guidance, training, and feedback to enhance their skills and ensure consistency in estimating practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Business, or related field, coupled with 3‑4+ years of commercial preconstruction estimating experience.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities with a solution‑oriented approach and excellent communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and experienced with industry‑standard estimating software (e.g., Heavy Bid, Sage, OST, Procore, Blue Beam).
- Demonstrated skills in reading and interpreting bid documents and drawings, with a keen attention to detail.
