Position Summary
As Director of Turnover
, you will provide leadership and oversight for turnover operations across multiple large‑scale projects and portfolios. You will ensure enterprise-level turnover standards, methodologies, and best practices are followed, engaging leadership teams in the coordination and facilitation of field verification and documentation of systems installed by construction. This role involves directing walk‑down activities across active construction sites, guiding construction leadership, subcontractor management, and client stakeholders, and coordinating with field quality, sub‑contractors, and testing and documentation teams.
In this capacity you will champion the adoption and optimization of digital platforms for project activities, develop and implement strategic frameworks for the final turnover of facilities, systems, and equipment, and establish partnerships with construction and CQV organizations to provide logical system boundaries that facilitate timely installation, completion, and turnover activities.
Key Responsibilities- Lead turnover operations across multiple large‑scale projects and portfolios.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise‑level turnover standards, methodologies, and best practices.
- Coordinate field verification, documentation of systems installed, and walk‑downs across active construction sites.
- Provide guidance to construction leadership, subcontractor management, and client stakeholders.
- Collaborate with field quality and sub‑contractors to adhere to testing and documentation requirements.
- Confirm the completion of pre‑commissioning activities such as megger and continuity, testing and balancing, chemical cleaning and flushing, passivation, and pressure testing across your portfolio.
- Implement and standardize enterprise‑level turnover programs across multiple sites and regions.
- Ensure consistency in processes, documentation, and quality standards while maintaining flexibility for site‑specific and regional requirements.
- State oversight for the interpretation of P&IDs, line diagrams, panel layouts, and CSA drawings.
- Resolve systemic issues identified on system walk‑downs in coordination with field construction quality leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related experience in lieu of degree.
- 15+ years of progressive Construction Turnover experience on Pharma/Biotechnology projects, Data Center projects, or equivalent complex facilities.
- Demonstrated success in leadership roles.
- OSHA 30 Certification required.
- Ability to provide leadership presence on active construction sites as needed, including PPE use, site visits, and client‑facing activities.
- Proven experience developing and implementing turnover programs across multiple sites and regions simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to standardize processes and procedures across different geographical locations and business units.
- Experience establishing partnerships with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders at the executive level.
- Experience leading large, geographically dispersed teams with a focus on cross‑functional and cross‑discipline coordination.
- Comprehensive knowledge of GDP Requirements and regulatory compliance frameworks.
- Advanced proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings (P&IDs, Single Lines, Isometrics, etc.).
- Deep understanding of systems‑based scoping and turnover processes with ability to innovate and improve methodologies.
- Expertise in Construction Turnover Package assembly standards and quality frameworks.
- Experience with digital construction platforms, including emerging technologies.
