Job Summary

The primary function of the Superintendent is to monitor and report on the progress of assigned projects and provide guidance and technical support for the job site personnel to transform the contract into a finished project that meets or exceeds the client’s expectations, at or below budget and within contract guidelines.

Duties / Responsibilities
  • Oversee day‑to‑day operations and supervision of the assigned field project.
  • Manage field crews and subcontractors to ensure efficiency and adherence to timelines.
  • Meet with President, Project Manager, and Estimator to understand job specifications during the scheduled hand‑off meeting.
  • Develop and enforce a project schedule, ensuring subcontractors and field staff meet deadlines.
  • Complete and forward a two‑week look‑ahead report to the Project Manager and President weekly.
  • Maintain daily reports, job journals, and project documentation.
  • Submit all reports and paperwork, including payroll and hours worked, on time and accurately.
  • Enforce job site safety rules, maintain OSHA documentation, and ensure safety compliance.
  • Hold weekly safety meetings with subcontractors and vendors, ensuring sign‑ins per OSHA guidelines.
  • Ensure minimal rework and maintain and complete the punch list on time.
  • Oversee procurement of materials, supplies, and rentals, ensuring availability on schedule.
  • Verify material orders and take‑offs, addressing discrepancies in plans.
  • Coordinate schedules of subcontractors, ensuring they meet deadlines.
  • Act as the main point of contact for subcontractors and vendors to ensure alignment with project requirements.
  • Complete subcontractor and vendor evaluations upon project completion.
  • Identify and resolve inefficiencies in manpower, personnel capabilities, and subcontractor performance.
  • Secure necessary permits and schedule inspections, ensuring permitting and job documentation is maintained on‑site.
  • Ensure change orders are signed by the Owner before proceeding.
  • Maintain a positive and professional company image on‑site and with all project stakeholders.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Must be able to manage project sizes of $3 million or more of revenue independently.
Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements

Minimum of 15 years’ related experience required. The employee may be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, lift, carry, pull, grasp, climb, crawl, crouch, sit or bend over for periods without relief. The employee must be able to lift, carry and move up to 50 pounds as needed. Employees in this position must be able to climb ladders and stairs to access platforms and scaffolds, as well as walk around indoor and outdoor job sites with distances up to one mile on uneven, paved, gravel, dirt, or sandy surfaces.

Employees must be able to work on elevated platforms, scaffolds, and landings. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision and the ability to adjust focus.
