Role Description

The Safety Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill Area. This role is responsible for supporting field and site safety activities, including daily inspections of work areas, equipment, and procedures to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The Safety Technician will assist in implementing and monitoring health, safety, and environmental programs, conduct safety orientations and toolbox talks, and help investigate incidents and near misses.

The role also involves maintaining safety documentation, coordinating corrective actions, and communicating safety expectations clearly to project teams and subcontractors. The Safety Technician will collaborate closely with supervisors and project managers to promote a strong safety culture across all job sites.

Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess skills in Health & Safety, Occupational Health, and Workplace Safety.
  • Candidates should possess skills in Environment Health and Safety (EHS) and related regulatory compliance.
  • Candidates should possess strong Communication skills, including the ability to deliver clear safety instructions and reports.
  • Knowledge of construction safety standards (e.g., OSHA), job-site risk assessments, and safe work practices in utility and underground construction.
  • Experience conducting safety inspections, audits, and incident reporting in field or industrial environments.
  • Ability to work on-site in varying weather conditions, use personal protective equipment, and travel between job locations as needed.
  • Preferred qualifications include safety-related certifications (e.g., OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR), and prior experience in construction or utilities.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional safety training or technical education in occupational health and safety is a plus.
