The person in this role will help with airport pick-up/drop-off as well as scheduled events for NC State international visitors participating in the GTI and other international programs. The selected candidate will transport program participants to and from their temporary accommodations, training locations, and other scheduled activities. The candidate must be flexible and available for evening and weekend hours. Hours will vary based on program needs.
Responsibilities- Transport program participants to and from accommodations, training locations, and scheduled activities.
- Maintain GTI buses as needed.
- Attend non-revenue generating sporting events at no cost to the candidate.
Up to 20–30 hours per week as required.
Requirements- Satisfactory driving record and compliance with all traffic laws.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver’s license required at time of hire.
- Submission of a driver’s background check through NC State’s background check system prior to hiring.
- Knowledge of the NC State area or nearby housing complexes.
- Experience driving a 15‑passenger van, mini‑bus, or other large vehicles.
- Ability to demonstrate cultural sensitivity toward newly arrived international visitors.
- Ability to work independently and with a supervisor or as part of a team.
- Clear communication with staff and visitors.
- Friendly and helpful disposition.
- Attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Google Calendar for scheduling driving times.
