Job Overview
Riccobene Associates Family Dentistry is seeking a part‑time Dental Assistant (2 days per week) to join our Wakefield–Raleigh practice.
Key Competencies- Assists the dentist in providing dental treatment
- Functions as a treatment coordinator and presents treatment plans to patients
- Schedules patient appointments to accommodate potential obstacles
- Maintains dental instruments, supplies, and equipment
- Collects and records patient health histories
- Assists with patient management during dental procedures
- Completes instrument cleaning, sterilization, and post‑op sanitization of treatment rooms
- Prepares dental materials and equipment as needed for scheduled treatments
- Completes dental charting
- Manages inventory supplies and other ancillary duties
- Completion of Dental Assistant II training or equivalent
- Preferred 2–5 years of Dental Assistant experience
- Achievement of CDA certification, completion of a radiological equivalency exam through the NC State Board of Dental Examiners, or completion of a CODA‑accredited dental assisting program
- CPR certification or commitment to obtain CPR certification within 30 days of hire
- Ability to professionally present clinical information regarding treatment plans and insurance information to patients
- Knowledge of Eaglesoft and/or Denticon software is a plus
- Regular and timely attendance
- Demonstrated independent thinking and good judgment in formulating, affecting, interpreting, and/or implementing operating practices
- Teamwork approach to job responsibilities
- Initiative, dependability, and promptness
- Attention to detail for frequent repetitive work
- Flexibility and willingness to accept different work assignments, including travel to other locations, with a positive approach
- Ability to follow instructions and take responsibility for own actions
- Confidentiality with patients and patient care
- Strong listening skills to ensure necessary outcomes
