The Duke Radiology Division of Interventional Radiology seeks candidates for a clinical faculty position as Medical Instructor, Assistant, or Associate Professor. The position is based at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC with duties at the Durham VA Medical Center and one or more of our affiliate hospitals and outpatient office-based practice. Candidates are expected to have a commitment to excellence in academic interventional radiology in the setting of a very busy clinical practice.

Candidates must be board eligible or board certified in Interventional Radiology and have demonstrated a strong track record in research, education, and clinical care.

The ideal candidate will have the flexibility, interest, and ability to perform a broad range of interventions within an extremely busy and growing clinical practice. The range of procedures performed is diverse, including all interventional oncology procedures, hepatobiliary interventions, portal interventions, transplant interventions, peripheral arterial disease, deep venous interventions, women’s interventions, complex gastrointestinal interventions, MSK interventions, hemodialysis interventions, and a multitude of others.

Duke IR has a particularly busy interventional oncology practice, performing primary tumor therapies as well as palliative treatments. Duke also has one of the busiest transplant centers in the nation, with whom we partner extensively to optimize patient outcomes after organ transplantation. Similarly, strong partnerships are maintained with hepatobiliary surgery, urology, oncology, trauma surgery (Level 1 center), vascular surgery and many other clinical services.

Involvement in clinic, inpatient care and multidisciplinary conferences are integral. Faculty who have experience in practice growth and innovation are highly valued. Specialized experience in musculoskeletal and palliative interventions is also particularly valued for this position. Percutaneous biopsies are performed by our sub‑specialty colleagues in Radiology.

Interested candidates will have strong research and/or educational interests. The Duke Interventional Radiology Translational Research Laboratory provides resources for the pursuit of basic and translational research. Duke Radiology and the IR Division maintain excellence in the education of medical students and residents.
