Location:
North Carolina Department of Adult Correction. The selected candidate may be approved to work from an alternate OSDT work location. Overnight travel may be required. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.
- Planning, organizing, and instructing blocks of training for COBT, Correctional Officer and/or Instructor Training for NCDAC
- Drafting course plans and objectives, evaluating, updating, and creating lesson plans and training materials
- Delivering instruction and collaborating as part of an instructional team, following approved training materials and methodologies
- Researching materials for course development, developing course strategies and objectives, modifying course content, and participating in evaluation of courses
- Possession of current General Instructor Certification
- Certification in Firearms and/or Controls, Restraints, Defensive Techniques (CRDT) specialty certification with the condition of attaining the remaining specialties within 6 months of the start date
- Demonstrated knowledge of procedures, practices and operation of North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections
- Experience crafting and delivering PowerPoint presentations and creating Word documents
Bachelor’s degree and four years of experience directly related to instruction and training, including one year in an administrative or coordinative capacity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience to demonstrate the required skills and knowledge.
NotesOvernight travel may be required.
