Academic Advisor – Student Success and Engagement. Posting Number: PG194484EP. Salary: $50,000 – $52,000.

Work Schedule:

Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm; occasional evenings and weekends.

Location:

Raleigh, NC (on‑campus required).

• Advising
  • Advise first‑ and second‑year College of Education students and transfer students; coordinate support and programming.
  • Advise potential transfer and on‑campus transfer students; represent the College at transfer recruitment events.
  • Approximately 65% of the position.
• Teaching
  • Serve as instructor for ED 100:
    Intro to Education and assist with course implementation and assessment.
  • Approximately 15% of the position.
• Administration
  • Support Student Success initiatives (SAY Village, Professional Growth Units) and programmatic initiatives.
  • Act as advisor for the CED Peer Mentoring Program.
  • Approximately 10% of the position.
• Professional Development
  • Seek professional development and maintain expertise in advising, teaching, technology, and specialty areas.
  • Approximately 5% of the position.
• Recruitment and Transition
  • Support recruitment events and transition activities; attend occasional evenings/weekends.
  • Approximately 5% of the position.

Other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of the Student Success and Advising Center and the Director of Advising.

• Master’s Degree in Higher Education, Counseling or related field.
• Experience with teaching and curriculum development at K‑12 or university level.

• Experience supporting diverse college students.
• Ability to evaluate complex educational plans and develop options.
• Collaborate with services/resources to resolve student problems.
• Awareness of North Carolina Teaching Licensure Requirements.
• Working knowledge of current K‑12 education issues.
