The Associate Director is a full‑time, 12‑month, non‑tenure track staff ( EPS ) position. As a key member of the Academic Success Center ( ASC ) team, the Associate Director has responsibility for assisting the Director by taking an active role in all major functions of the ASC , including teaching, training, planning, assessing, and promoting its programs.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

Administration (30%)
  • Independent administrative oversight of the Supplemental Instruction (SI) and Academic Peer Mentoring programs, including hiring, scheduling, and providing training for all SI Leaders, SI Peer Supervisors, and Academic Peer Mentors
  • Maintain communication with faculty regarding the SI program’s mission
  • Provide leadership for maintaining the unit’s website and communication channels
  • Lead the efforts for the recruiting and hiring of new ASC tutors
  • Work with the Director and the rest of the ASC team to formulate and implement ASC policies and procedures.
Assessment (25%)
  • Assess tutoring results by maintaining data entry and collection procedures, analyzing and reporting data to various groups on a regular basis
  • Serve as primary contact between the unit and the DASA Assessment office, ensuring completion of the unit’s assessment plan
Teaching (20%)
  • Teach one-credit tutor-training course each semester
  • Teach one-credit training course for new academic peer mentors
Supervision (15%)
  • Supervise 2 professional staff members
  • Support the Coordinator in oversight of the Group and Drop‑in Tutoring programs
  • Supervise student staff and peer supervisors who work in both the SI and Academic Peer Mentoring programs
Programming (10%)
