Ravenscroft is seeking a Lower School Science Specialist to lead our newly reimagined Science special area program for students in Grades PreK–5 beginning in the 2026–27 school year. This is a full-time, exempt, 10-month faculty position following the academic calendar (August–June).
This role is ideal for an educator who is passionate about hands‑on, inquiry‑based science instruction and excited to build an integrated IDEaS (Innovation, Design, Engineering, and Science) curriculum in collaboration with our Lower School IDE program. The Lower School Science Specialist will foster curiosity, critical thinking, and real‑world problem‑solving while helping young learners develop scientific literacy in a joyful and engaging environment.

What You'll Do- Teach hands‑on, inquiry‑based science to students in Grades PreK-5
- Collaborate with the IDE program to develop an integrated IDEaS curriculum
- Partner with classroom teachers to connect science learning to core subjects
- Foster curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking in young learners
- Coach a Lower School Science Olympiad team
- Lead the Lower School Science and Innovation Fair
- Participate actively in the broader life of the school
Required
- Experience teaching or developing curriculum for Lower School students
- Strong understanding of inquiry‑based, hands‑on instructional practices
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to working in a diverse, inclusive, and mission‑aligned school community
- Master’s degree in Education, Science, or a related field
- Experience with interdisciplinary STEM or design‑based programming
- Experience leading Science Olympiad, STEM competitions, or similar enrichment programs
This role is based on Ravenscroft’s campus and includes work in classrooms and innovation lab spaces. The position requires the ability to move throughout campus, lead hands‑on instructional activities, and communicate effectively with students and colleagues.
