Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons tailored to a variety of student learning needs.
- Develop and implement assessment methods to monitor and evaluate student progress.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment which encourages active learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance interdisciplinary teaching strategies.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
- Stay current with educational trends and integrate innovative teaching practices.
- Employment is contingent upon applicant satisfactorily passing criminal background and reference checks.
- Must complete diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training within 60 days of hire.
- Minimum level of
Education:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant content area. Master's degree preferred.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in the relevant subject area or education.
- Valid teaching certification/licensure in North Carolina.
- Proven experience teaching in the subject area in secondary schools (9-12 grade).
- Proficiency in subject-specific pedagogy.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Passion for education and a commitment to student success.
- Demonstrated proficiency with new technologies and a willingness to integrate technology into classroom lessons.
- Able to work collaboratively with the other members of the department and the whole school in academics, extracurricular activities, and furthering the mission of the school.
- For language positions, one must be fluent in French or Spanish.
