Learning Center Teacher

Job Description

The Learning Center Teacher at Raleigh Rescue Mission plays a crucial role in teaching and ministering to children and parents in the New Life Program. This position focuses on providing age‑appropriate curriculum and care to promote healthy development. The ideal candidate is a compassionate servant‑leader committed to excellence in infant/toddler/youth education.
Must be able to work 9am-6pm

• Implement age‑appropriate curriculum and enforce behavioral rules in the classroom.
• Meet the basic needs of children and provide them with tools and resources for learning and play.
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to suit the interests and learning styles of children.
• Build positive relationships with children and parents, track children's progress, and report to parents.
• Manage classroom activities, maintain cleanliness, and facilitate developmental milestones.
• Collaborate with others to implement lesson plans and encourage social interaction among children.
• Ensure child safety and follow health, safety, and sanitation procedures.
• Maintain inventory of classroom materials and supplies.
• Assist in the organization of special events and welcome and support volunteers.
• Communicate effectively with the Children's Development Center team and other staff members.
• Participate in meetings, trainings, and provide transportation for children to special appointments if needed.
• Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to assist in any area of the Mission as required.

• Exceptional customer service skills with excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Ability to handle tension in a social services environment and maintain a high standard of excellence.
• Passionate about personal and professional growth, with a commitment to faithfulness and excellence.
• Comfortable in a dynamic and adaptable work environment, proactively solving problems with minimal supervision.

• Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a licensed daycare.
• Experience and desire to work with a diverse group of children.
• Basic computer proficiency, ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds, and work both indoors and outdoors.
• Valid NC driver's license.
• Required certifications:
  Qualifying Letter, TB Test, CPR & First Aid, NCID.
• Post‑hire requirements:
  Emergency Info/Medical Report/Health Questionnaire/Prosolutions.
