Extension EFNEP Program Assistant (Adult)

Job OverviewResponsible for managing and delivering the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) and 4‑H youth programs within Macon County. Duties include recruiting participants, conducting nutrition education in group settings, maintaining program records, marketing the program, recruiting volunteers, and coordinating with community partners.
Key Responsibilities- Recruit and enroll limited‑resource adults and school‑aged youth into EFNEP and 4‑H programs.
- Provide nutrition education using approved curricula and teaching methods.
- Conduct food demonstrations to adult and youth groups.
- Collect required data and submit monthly reports to the RNEA, EFNEP State office, and County Extension Director.
- Maintain confidentiality of program information.
- Coordinate with collaborating agencies to extend program outreach.
- Develop partnerships with agencies and organizations serving EFNEP audiences.
- Participate in required EFNEP meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
- Travel within the county, district, and state; personal vehicle required.
- Promote program visibility and educational opportunities beyond EFNEP to participants and stakeholders.
- Recruit, train, and utilize volunteers for marketing, data collection, and program delivery.

Minimum Requirement:
High‑school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred:
Knowledge of community and social service programs for low‑income families, experience teaching or working with limited‑resource adults and/or youth, and/or nutrition education experience.
Valid NC driver’s license required. Commercial driver’s license not required.

Work Schedule:
8:00 am–5:00 pm, Monday‑Friday; nights and weekends as required.
