- Travel within county, district, and state using a personal vehicle (personal vehicle required).
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the role of NCCE as an educational agency.
- Recruit limited‑resource school‑aged youth and families with young children who meet federal eligibility guidelines for EFNEP.
- Instruct eligible youth and families in nutrition education using approved curricula and teaching methods.
- Conduct food demonstrations to adult and youth groups.
- Facilitate the collection of required data and submit reports to the RNEA, EFNEP state office, and CED.
- Maintain confidentiality of program information.
- Coordinate with collaborating agencies to extend program outreach to eligible families.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with agencies and organizations serving EFNEP audiences.
- Participate in lifelong learning and professional development by attending trainings and other opportunities designated by the RNEA, County Extension Director, District Extension Director, and/or State EFNEP office (a few may require overnight travel).
- Attend and participate in required EFNEP meetings and trainings within the county and outside (a few may be overnight travel).
- Enhance program visibility by communicating program impacts to local stakeholders and potential participants.
- Promote educational opportunities beyond EFNEP within Cooperative Extension and partnering agencies to program participants.
- Recruit, train, and utilize volunteers to assist in program marketing, data collection, and program delivery.
- Meet established programmatic standards for performance and impact.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum requirement for employment with North Carolina Cooperative Extension: a high‑school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of nutrition and healthy eating concepts.
- Knowledge of community and social service programs for limited‑resource families.
- Experience teaching or working with limited‑resource adults, youths, and/or nutrition education (preferred).
Valid North Carolina driver’s license and reliable personal transportation (must be maintained). Valid driver’s license required within 60 days of hire.
Other Requirements- Selected candidate may be required to pass a drug test prior to employment.
