Essential Job Duties
- Serve at least 60 Duplin County students and their families in the program.
- Facilitate and lead family workshop series and family night events (at least four family nights if not facilitating Family Engagement Workshops that year). Focus on educational topics and families’ interests.
- Hold two to three contact hours of 4‑H Club meetings every month after school (or during school). Meetings focus on academic success, STEM learning, career exploration, and community service.
- Provide one‑on‑one monthly Success Coaching sessions to 30 enrolled youth in Juntos. Youth selected through collaboration with school staff.
- Check in individually with Juntos staff monthly during the school year and join 8 out of 10 monthly statewide Juntos coordinator calls. Receive at least one monitoring site visit and report from the state office.
- Take students on field trips to colleges and other Juntos events, including the Juntos Summer Academy and local summer camps offered with Duplin County 4‑H.
- Recruit, supervise, and coordinate program volunteers to tutor or mentor during Juntos activities. Volunteers deliver workshops on study skills, life skills, STEM learning, career and college exploration, college entrance exams, applications, financial aid, and transition to higher education.
- Ensure volunteers have criminal background checks per Duplin School District and State 4‑H procedures; ensure all adults and youth are registered on 4‑H Online.
- Abide by all relevant Duplin School District policies (staff conduct, student conduct, treatment of property, discipline policy).
- Work with school, Extension, and other community leaders to build a local program Sustainability Partners Committee in the county.
