Frostburg State University (FSU), Office of Admissions seeks applications for a full-time, exempt Admissions Counselor position. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Position includes the robust University System of Maryland benefits package, which is comprised of annual, personal, and sick leave, holidays, tuition remission, health, dental, vision, and life insurance, and retirement plans.
Responsibilities- Under the direction of an Assistant Director of Admissions, the Admissions Counselor is responsible for providing information regarding admissions standards and requirements for prospective students.
- Work directly with prospective students through the admissions, financial aid, scholarship, and application process.
- Implement recruitment activities such as campus trips, presentations, Saturday visits, virtual events, resource tables, application workshops, and designated area projects.
- Frequent travel to high schools and two-year colleges with some overnight travel required.
- Other duties as needed to assist with student enrollment.
- Bachelor's degree with one to three years of related experience.
- The successful candidate will have excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills with a proven ability to interact effectively and promote a culturally diverse prospective student population.
- Valid non-commercial driver's license and a desire to travel required.
- Ability to work nights and weekends as needed to assist with student enrollment.
- Knowledge of Customer Relationship Management system (CRM).
