Wake Technical Community College is seeking to expand our pool of adjunct faculty for tutorial support in:
Writing/Study Skills. Openings for these positions may not exist at the present time; however upon review of your qualifications, you may be contacted directly by the department on an as needed basis.

Provides tutoring activities to increase the learning achievements in curriculum and continuing education areas to include developing workshops and supplementary handouts as appropriate.
- Creates and work on publications and other communications projects that will benefit the ILC in general.
- Ensures proper procedures for time cards and registration.
- Carries out administrative duties, such as necessary record keeping meeting auditing requirements.
Offers virtual tutoring services in the event of college closure due to inclement weather or other emergency.
Supports all efforts of the ILC in facilitating its mission.
Stays current in the tutoring/ adult education field by taking workshops, classes, reading, or self-instruction as a requirement of staff development
Conducts mini-workshops as needed.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Demonstrated ability and commitment to tutor major and/or non-major level courses in English.
- Ability to demonstrate a variety of instructional techniques and methods.
- Ability to be self-directed, organized, task and detail oriented.
- Bachelor's degree in English or areas related to reading, language arts, and study skills.
- Full-time or part-time teaching and/or tutoring experience
- Must be willing to work flexible hours which may include evenings and Saturdays
College transcripts must be uploaded with your application or submitted to the HR office prior to consideration for interview
Preferences- Master's degree in English or a Master's degree in a related field with 18 graduate semester hours in English.
- One year college level teaching and/or tutoring experience
