Middle School Social Studies Teacher And 7th Grade Advisor
Ravenscroft is seeking a Middle School Social Studies Teacher and 7th Grade Advisor to join our Middle School / Social Studies Department. This is a full-time, exempt, 10-month position following the academic calendar (August–June).

What You'll Do:
- Teach five sections of a combination of 7th grade Human Geography and electives reflecting your passion and expertise
- Design and deliver lessons that focus on both the fundamentals of course material and authentic applications in support of the Ravenscroft mission to "nurture individual potential and prepare students to thrive in a complex and interdependent world"
- Exhibit superior teaching skills that demonstrate best practices, including inquiry-based learning, differentiated instruction, and facilitation
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum
- Advise approximately 12 students and facilitate the integration of Ravenscroft's "Lead from Here" curriculum
- Demonstrate cultural competence and the ability to connect with a diverse community of students, faculty, staff, and parents
- Use Ravenscroft's learning management systems (Canvas and Veracross) effectively
- Serve on committees and/or facilitate an active student club
- Demonstrate a growth mindset and the ability to receive feedback, adapt to different learners' needs, and become a valued colleague in a strong and cohesive department.

Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in History/Social Studies, History/Social Studies Education, or a related field
Preferred:
- Master's degree and experience teaching Middle School history/social studies
- Experience working with middle school–aged students in any setting
- Experience in a K–12 or independent school environment
- Willingness and ability to participate in the broader school community, including coaching a sport.
This role is based on Ravenscroft's campus and includes work in classrooms and shared community spaces. The position requires the ability to move throughout campus, lead classroom activities, use instructional technology regularly, and communicate effectively with students and colleagues.
