Hours per week: 10-12 hours/week (3 days a week 2:30pm - 6:00pm)
Key responsibilities:- Accept and actively support the mission of Saint Raphael Catholic School as articulated at the diocesan and school level
- Model and integrate virtues and values that support school wide core values of reverence, service, and leadership
- Serve as a positive role model for students by fostering a safe, welcoming, and respectful after school environment
- Ensure the welfare and safety of students at all times and respond appropriately to student needs and emergencies
- Plan, supervise, and participate in engaging activities such as arts and crafts, games, outdoor play, and service projects
- Provide students with a structured environment that supports homework completion when appropriate
- Supervise students during indoor and outdoor activities while maintaining a high level of attentiveness and awareness
- Build positive relationships with students while encouraging respectful behavior, responsibility, and good decision-making
- Address minor behavioral concerns with consistency, patience, and professionalism, seeking assistance from the Program Director when appropriate
- Assist the Program Director with daily logistics, including set-up, dismissal procedures, cleaning, and end-of-day organization
- Maintain positive, professional, and collaborative relationships with students, families, faculty, and fellow after school staff
- Contribute to a positive Catholic school culture rooted in service, collaboration, and joyful care for children
- Associate's degree preferred; however, qualified candidates who are at least 18 years of age are encouraged to apply.
- Previous experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred:
Education, childcare, recreation, camp programs, youth ministry, or related fields. - Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church is preferred, committed to supporting and upholding the mission and teachings of Catholic education.
- Genuine enthusiasm for working with children from Kindergarten through Grade 8
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team
- Dependable, flexible, and professional in carrying out assigned responsibilities
Employment is contingent upon the applicant passing a full background check, reference checks, and completing Diocesan Sponsored Safe Environment Training.
