The Assistant Director of Admissions is an experienced admissions professional and individual contributor responsible for recruiting and enrolling prospective students within an assigned territory. The position independently develops and adjusts territory strategies, builds highly personalized relationships with students and families, uses enrollment data and professional judgment to prioritize recruitment and yield activity, and manages complex recruitment situations with limited supervision.

Recruitment & Territory Management
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate a territory recruitment plan designed to achieve inquiry, application, admission, deposit, and enrollment goals.
  • Use historical performance, funnel data, student engagement, and market information to identify opportunities and adjust strategies throughout the cycle.
  • Plan and complete recruitment travel and evaluate the effectiveness of travel, school visits, fairs, and related activities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with high school counselors, educational partners, alumnae, and other contacts that support assigned markets.
Prospective Student & Family Engagement
  • Build authentic, individualized relationships with prospective students and families from inquiry through enrollment.
  • Provide timely, strategic, and highly personalized outreach based on student interests, concerns, engagement history, and stage in the enrollment process.
  • Counsel students and families regarding the admission process, financial aid, academic programs, campus life, housing, career outcomes, and other factors influencing the college decision.
  • Recognize students or families who require additional intervention and develop appropriate strategies to address questions, concerns, or barriers to enrollment.
  • Manage complex or sensitive student and family situations with sound judgment and appropriate consultation with the Director when needed.
  • Conduct interviews, information sessions, presentations, and other recruitment activities on and off campus while providing exceptional customer service.
Yield & Enrollment Strategy
  • Develop and execute targeted yield strategies for admitted students within assigned territories.
  • Monitor admitted-student engagement, deposit activity, and enrollment progress and identify students requiring additional outreach or intervention.
  • Support deposited students through enrollment and help address barriers that could contribute to summer melt.
  • Collaborate with Financial Assistance and other campus offices when specialized support is needed for a student or family.
Data-Informed Recruitment
  • Analyze territory performance, funnel movement, application sources, student engagement, yield, and enrollment outcomes.
  • Use Slate and other systems to identify priority populations, manage recruitment activity, document meaningful interactions, and guide follow-up.
  • Assess recruitment strategy effectiveness, recommend adjustments, and contribute informed observations during enrollment strategy discussions.
  • Maintain accurate and timely student records and documentation.
Admissions Expertise & Professional Contribution
  • Maintain advanced knowledge of Meredith College programs, policies, student experiences, financial aid information, resources, and opportunities.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the college search and enrollment process and communicate complex information clearly to students and families.
  • Represent Admissions professionally and collaborate effectively with Enrollment Management colleagues and campus partners.
  • Participate actively in team strategy discussions, training, professional development, assigned projects, and committees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Performance Expectations
  • Meet established territory goals for prospects, applications, admits, deposits, and enrolled students.
  • Demonstrate consistent, personalized, and strategic engagement with prospective students and families.
  • Use enrollment data and student engagement information to prioritize work and adjust recruitment strategies.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment, accountability, and professionalism in resolving student situations with limited supervision.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of meaningful recruitment activity.
