The Department of Teacher Education and Learning Sciences (TELS) invites an accomplished, forward thinking scholar to help shape thefuture of elementary teacher preparation. This tenure-track faculty member will join a collaborative academic community committed tohigh-impact research, exceptional teaching,
meaningful mentorship, and sustained engagement with schools and communities across North Carolina

The successful candidate will maintain an active program of research, publication, grant writing, and external funding focusedon pre-service elementary teacher preparation programs and their impact. They will teach undergraduate and graduate elementary education courses, including the Master of Arts in Teachingprogram, with a strong preference for expertise in elementarysocial studies education. The successful
candidate will also recruit, advise, and mentor graduate students and serve on doctoral committees. In addition, they will collaborate across NC State and provide service, outreach, and leadership with schools, districts, professional organizations, and communities across North Carolina

Education:

A doctorate in Teacher Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Elementary Education, or a related field.
Teaching experience:
Undergraduate and/or graduate teaching in elementary education, experience preparing preservice
teachers, and K-6 classroom experience.
Scholarly promise: A scholarship and funding record commensurate with experience and demonstrated potential for
excellence in research, teaching, extension, and service.
Student support:
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds, perspectives,
and experiences and to support varied academic and professionalneeds
