The Role

As a Bilingual Spanish Associate Teacher, you will serve as the direct classroom partner to our Lead Teachers across our early learning programs (serving ages 12 months through 5 years). You will help maintain seamless daily rhythms, facilitate small‑group and center‑based activities in Spanish, support daily routines, and ensure our learning spaces remain safe, clean, and joyful.

Key Responsibilities

• Language Reinforcement: Engage with children naturally in conversational Spanish throughout the day during indoor exploration, circle time, meals, outdoor play, and daily transitions.
• Classroom Partnership: Assist the Lead Teacher with setting up materials, guiding small‑group learning stations, and carrying out play‑based studies using The Creative Curriculum®.
• Daily Care & Routines: Provide attentive care during meal times, nap transitions, handwashing, and diapering/restroom routines using positive guidance and high sanitation standards.
• Active Supervision & Safety: Maintain constant active supervision to uphold strict North Carolina DCDEE child‑to‑teacher ratios and classroom safety protocols at all times.
• Classroom Environment: Keep classroom learning centers, toys, and shared equipment organized, clean, and inviting for daily hands‑on exploration.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Language: Strong conversational Spanish skills (comfortable communicating with children, singing songs, and assisting routines in Spanish); practical English skills for team collaboration and safety reporting.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required (minimum age 18);
  Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.
• Experience: Prior experience working with infants, toddlers, or preschoolers in a licensed child care center, church nursery, or early education program preferred.
• Background Clearance: Must clear a comprehensive NC DCDEE criminal background check and fingerprint screening prior to start date.
• Certifications: Pediatric CPR and First Aid certifications (or willingness to complete during onboarding).
