Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor

The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) at NC State University invites applications for open-rank, tenure-track faculty positions at all career stages. The department welcomes candidates whose research and teaching interests align with the broad field of Industrial and Systems Engineering, with particular interest in artificial intelligence and/or quantum computing for optimization; logistics and supply chain management; data science and analytics;

and emerging areas of national and international importance. Appointments may be considered at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level based on qualifications and career stage.

In this role, you will shape the future of Industrial and Systems Engineering through research, teaching, and collaboration. You will have the opportunity to establish a distinctive research agenda, pursue meaningful partnerships across disciplines, and translate your expertise into advances that address complex engineering challenges. Through your teaching and mentorship, you will help prepare the next generation of engineers, researchers, and leaders while contributing your perspective and expertise to the continued growth and excellence of ISE and NC State.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: building and sustaining an independent, externally funded research program that advances Industrial and Systems Engineering and contributes to emerging areas of national and international importance; conducting and disseminating high-impact research through scholarly publications, presentations, and other contributions to the field; developing interdisciplinary collaborations within NC State and with external academic, industry, government, and research partners to address complex engineering challenges;

teaching and developing courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, creating engaging learning experiences that prepare students for the evolving field of Industrial and Systems Engineering; mentoring and advising graduate students and supporting their academic, research, and professional development; and contributing to the department, college, and university community through service, leadership, and activities that advance the mission and vision of NC State.
