The Fitts Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering includes more than 25 faculty, 10 core staff, 350 undergraduate students, and 250 graduate students, including approximately 75 Ph.D. students.

In addition to degrees in ISE, the department leads the professional Master's in Engineering Management program and collaborates on the graduate Operations Research program.

The department houses two state-funded centers that are public-private partnerships: the Ergonomics Center of North Carolina, the only center of its kind at a U.S. public research institution, and the Center for Additive Manufacturing and Logistics, one of the most advanced manufacturing and 3D printing laboratories in the country.

The newly established Bezos Center for Alternative Proteins is also led by an ISE faculty member.

These centers provide additional opportunities to collaborate with industry and pursue research with real-world impact.

You will have access to world-class laboratory and research facilities supporting computing, manufacturing, human factors, and ergonomics research.

These resources are complemented by Fitts-Woolard Hall, our state-of-the-art home on NC State's Centennial Campus, located near the award-winning Hunt Library and numerous industry and government facilities.

Centennial Campus provides a unique environment for university-industry collaboration and interdisciplinary research.
