Reporting to the Heads of Development, the Senior Manager, Development will advance a portfolio of renewable and storage investment opportunities across the U.S., with a primary focus on solar and will support for wind, battery, and other verticals as needed. The Senior Manager will carry a growing set of mid- and late-stage projects, working hands-on to advance and deliver them toward construction handover.

This position is best suited for an experienced developer with a demonstrated track record of bringing projects to construction handover through strong execution, cross-functional collaboration, and stakeholder management. Working alongside internal and external experts, this role advances individual projects through initial landowner and community relations, obtaining land use permits, helping facilitate site due diligence for environmental and land use constraints, shepherding projects through high-profile interconnection decision points, and finalizing offtake contracts, GIAs, and EPC agreements to carry a project through final investment decisions and ultimately to NTP.

Responsibilities

Develop, manage, and execute a pipeline of competitive, customer-centric project investment opportunities, with primary focus on solar

Succeed in a fast paced, dynamic, competitive marketplace

• Strong understanding of project drivers & competition to deliver project investment opportunities

• Commercial understanding of value and risk drivers related to project technical aspects (interconnection, resource, constructability, design, etc.)

• Identify strategic business opportunities

  • Mitigate risk and successfully structure projects through complementary project contracts

  • Perform risk assessments, business impact analyses, and strategy selection

  • Strong understanding of financial drivers

• Bring strong customer focus & understanding of customer needs

  • Work closely with the customer at all levels of the organization (C-Level executives to procurement personnel)

  • Understand customer needs and structure specific business solutions

• Advance development on our mid to late stage pipeline

  • Manage development budget and prudently spend company resources to create investment opportunities

  • Identify opportunities to prudently advance projects while minimizing risk

• Work effectively with technical subject matter experts across the organization

  • Work across functional areas to foster collaboration and cooperation to achieve shared goals
