What We're Looking For
What We're Looking For indicates the role: a Roadway Engineer II in HNTB’s Raleigh, NC office, joining the Roadway design team. Our team is currently working on complex North Carolina projects for NCDOT with a focus on improving communities, infrastructure challenges, and increasing transit and pedestrian/bicycle mobility. As a Roadway Engineer II, you will coordinate and deliver transportation engineering projects within scope, budget, and schedules from start-up through project closeout.
Projects range from small intersection improvements and multimodal corridor projects to large interchanges, multimodal improvements, low-impact bridge construction, and feasibility studies. Duties include roadway design, preparing cost estimates, specifications, corridor modelling, public engagement, and feasibility/express design development. Our team aims to deliver quality, on-time, on-budget projects that meet client satisfaction.
- Completes assigned work within the schedule and number of hours provided.
- Responsible for preparation and/or modification of select portions of project reports, plans, designs, and calculations.
- Develops project quantities and assists with development of cost estimates.
- Assists engineering teams with organization and administrative support of design files.
- Able to self-sufficiently complete various tasks and duties including research, data collection, field investigations, development, and design of projects.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor s degree in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience, or
- Master s degree in Engineering and 1 year of relevant experience
- Exhibits proficiency in applying engineering, geometric and algebraic principles in your work.
- Displays proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and Micro Station and/or Auto Cad or other software as required for job assignments.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
- NCDOT or SCDOT Experience
- Master s degree in Engineering
- Knowledgeable in Open Roads
- Knowledgeable in Micro Station and/or AutoCAD
