Job Summary:The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the independent design, development, packaging, and optimization of power electronics hardware platforms and related components. As a fully competent engineer, the role involves applying well-established expertise to complete tasks and projects with minimal supervision. This role includes collaboration with cross‑functional teams and occasional mentoring of less experienced engineers. The Mechanical Engineer contributes to product performance, efficiency, and customer satisfaction while ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities
  • Independently design and develop power electronics hardware platforms or related components, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., UL, IEEE, IEC, CSA) and customer specifications.
  • Conduct engineering analyses to optimize product performance, cost, and efficiency.
  • Perform detailed failure analysis on design‑related issues, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions to improve product quality and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain, to ensure successful integration of designs into production.
  • Participate in design reviews to provide technical input and ensure that designs meet project and customer requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and technical reports.
  • Stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure product designs remain competitive and compliant.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, promoting innovation and efficiency in the design process.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance as needed, though leadership is not a primary focus of this role.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • More than 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on electronics packaging, thermal design, or related product design.
  • Proficiency with design and analysis tools, including electrical and thermal analysis software (e.g., PTC Creo, Solid Works, ANSYS).
  • Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., UL, IEEE, IEC, CSA) and regulatory requirements for transformers or components.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work independently.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working in cross‑functional teams.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Experience conducting failure analysis and implementing corrective actions for design‑related issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with mechanical and cooling solutions for data center applications.
  • Experience designing mechanical solutions for high voltage (≥400V) and high frequency applications.
  • Proficiency with PTC Creo and its sheet metal and cable design modules.
  • Experience with sheet metal design and fabrication, including knowledge of attachment methods such as welding and staking.
