Civil Project Engineer II/III - Traffic Analysis and Planning

Timmons Group is seeking a candidate to join the Traffic Analysis and Planning Group located in our Raleigh, NC office.

• Complete operational analysis, corridor studies, traffic studies, innovative intersection implementation, traffic calming, and safety analysis.
• Bicycle/pedestrian/multi-modal feasibility, analysis, design, and implementation.
• Complete calculations using engineering formulas and/or utilize computers to solve problems.
• Perform research and write objective summary reports used in the completion of the project work.
• Assist in the preparation of engineering planning schedules and cost estimates.
• Complete field observation, inspection, and data collection duties.
• Communicate with client staff and internal design team.
• Communicate results/recommendations to the general public.

• A bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
• Ideal candidates will have two to six years of experience in Transportation/Traffic Engineering and Planning.
• Synchro/SIDRA/HCS proficiency is essential.
• Knowledge of Traffic Analyses, Planning Studies, Traffic Safety, Traffic Forecasting, Traffic Signal Design, ITS Design, and/or Traffic Signal Timing is preferred.
• Bicycle/pedestrian/multi-modal project experience preferred.
• Basic CAD and/or GIS knowledge preferred.
• Experience working with DOT and/or localities.
• PE/EIT preferred.
