Réalis is seeking an entry-level ITS/Traffic Engineer to join our NC ITS/Traffic Team in Raleigh, NC.
- Design and develop plans and drawings, including traffic signal design, fiber optic communications cable routing and splicing, utility coordination, signing and striping, traffic safety studies, and more.
- Organize and conduct ITS and Traffic engineering investigations, planning, and analysis which have a well-defined scope.
- Outline and prepare relatively straightforward technical reports of sections of more complex reports, working under periodic review of a more experienced professional.
- Research feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions, regulatory agency specifications, industry best practices, state of the practices, and emerging technologies.
- Contribute to the development of specifications and permit applications and write miscellaneous reports. Prepare preliminary man‑hour, cost and material quantity estimates.
- Participate in quality control checks, maintain quality standards in all work produced, check computations, and/or review reports, designs, and drawings developed by others.
- Coordinate with other disciplines as required. Perform field observations of construction where appropriate.
- Perform such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
- EDUCATION:
Minimum experience is required of incumbents with a Bachelor's Degree in a branch of Engineering directly related to hiring discipline; no experience required with a Master's degree. - EXPERIENCE:
Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited college/university. - SPECIAL
SKILLS:- Basic computer skills required to enter data into spreadsheets or databases.
- Math skills to perform simple calculations; willingness to learn.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience with AutoCAD or Micro Station (preferred).
- Proficient interpersonal and communications skills.
- Capability to develop technical writings and reports.
