As a Senior Electrical Engineer at The East Group, you’ll lead project teams that impact communities across the region, with a focus on healthcare, industrial, and public sector projects. You’ll lead project teams, guide clients through complex design processes, and help mentor the next generation of engineers. This role offers the opportunity to grow professionally while contributing to meaningful, community-focused work.
Key Responsibilities- Design electrical power, lighting, and low-voltage systems (fire alarm, telecom/data, etc.)
- Apply knowledge of the National Electrical Code and related standards
- Perform field work, document existing electrical conditions, and supervise design updates
- Prepare reports, studies, electrical specifications, and facility condition assessments
- Communicate and coordinate with electrical designers, architects, engineers, and other disciplines throughout the design process
- Review electrical submittals and shop drawings
- Contribute to the development of construction documents and project deliverables
- Support mentoring of junior staff and foster collaborative teamwork
- 10+ years of electrical engineering project experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program
- PE license in North Carolina (or ability to obtain quickly)
- Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills
- Proficiency in Revit is preferred
