Manufacturing Engineering Manager – Raleigh, NC You’ll make a difference by:- Leading and developing a team of Manufacturing and Test Engineers (3 engineers, 1 test engineer, and 1 rotational employee) through hands‑on coaching, performance management, and succession planning
- Partnering cross‑functionally with Production, Quality, Logistics, and R&D teams to resolve production issues, support operational goals, and drive efficiency across the manufacturing floor
- Advising on product design for manufacturability by collaborating with R&D, analyzing product specifications, clarifying requirements, and providing BOM and component details to ensure smooth product ramp‑up
- Developing and optimizing manufacturing solutions including facility layouts, tooling, workflows, and process documentation to enhance productivity and quality
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives by engaging directly with employees on the floor, leading site‑level improvement projects, and working with Lean experts to increase efficiency, quality, and safety
- Evaluating manufacturability during pilot and pre‑series builds, and recommending and implementing product or process changes to support new product introductions
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering field
- 5+ years of hands‑on technical experience in manufacturing engineering
- 3+ years of experience with the following:
- People leadership experience with full performance management responsibilities (including 1:1s, performance evaluations, and team development)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across multi‑functional teams
- Business financial acumen
- Approximately 10% travel (domestic and international)
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
- Experience in made‑to‑order manufacturing environments
- Demonstrated experience with new product introduction (NPI) and product ramp‑up activities
- Experience with process development and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)
- Proficiency with CAD software and ERP systems (SAP or equivalent)
- Experience with SharePoint or similar enterprise collaboration systems
- Track record of leading site‑level improvement projects and coordinating with external vendors or service providers
