Technical Source is seeking a motivated Automation Engineer with 1–3 years of experience to support a pharmaceutical manufacturing client in Raleigh, NC. This role will focus on PLC programming, troubleshooting, and automation support within a regulated production environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer looking to grow within the life sciences industry while working on critical manufacturing systems.
Key Responsibilities- Provide day-to-day automation support for pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment and processes
- Program, troubleshoot, and modify Allen Bradley PLCs (Control Logix, Compact Logix, etc.)
- Support commissioning, qualification, and validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ)
- Diagnose and resolve controls and instrumentation issues to minimize downtime
- Collaborate with maintenance, validation, quality, and manufacturing teams
- Maintain documentation in compliance with GMP and FDA regulations
- Assist with continuous improvement and system optimization initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field
- 1–3 years of hands‑on experience with Allen Bradley PLCs in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with in pharmaceutical, biotech, or other GMP-regulated industries preferred
- Familiarity with HMI/SCADA systems
- Understanding of cGMP documentation and validation processes is a plus
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Experience with batch processes and automated production systems
- Exposure to commissioning and startup support
- Knowledge of industrial networks (Ether Net/IP, Device Net)
- Experience working in cleanroom environments

Compensation:$80,000-$100,000 per year
