Job Title:
Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Project Specialist
Duration: 06+ Months (Contract/Temp with the possibility of extension)
Shift: 1st Shift (7:00 AM to 5:00 PM)
Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced EHS Project Specialist to support projects throughout the full lifecycle, ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations. This role partners closely with Project and Site Managers to develop, implement, and monitor EHS plans, mitigate risks, and drive continuous improvement. The position has authority to intervene and escalate in cases of non‑conformance.
Key Responsibilities- Identify applicable EHS regulations and conduct risk assessments.
- Develop and implement project‑specific EHS plans and emergency procedures.
- Support tender/bid phases with EHS risk and budget input.
- Ensure required permits, certifications, and regulatory notifications are in place.
- Deliver EHS training and communicate requirements to stakeholders.
- Review contractor safety documentation and ensure compliance.
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
- Prepare internal and external EHS reports.
- Support internal and external audits.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred)
Experience: Minimum 2+ years in EHS/HSE roles, preferably in industrial, construction, or project environments.
Skills & Knowledge- Strong knowledge of environmental and occupational safety regulations.
- Experience with risk assessments and incident investigations.
- Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 preferred.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
