We have an immediate need for a Roadway Engineer in the Raleigh, NC area. Base salary is $95K+, relevant to experience and PE status.
Required:- Microstation, Geopak and/or Open Roads proficiency
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- 5 years of experience with roadway design
- Knowledge of transportation engineering concepts, principles, theories, and methods required to plan, design, and engineer facilities such as highways, streets, bridges, and multi-modal facilities.
- PE or EIT with date set for PE Exam
- NCDOT project experience.
- Prepare and complete discipline engineering designs that are responsive to project needs including the production of roadway design, traffic management plans, pavement marking plans, signing plans, quantities, cost estimates, construction administration and final specifications.
- Plan and review the production of engineering drawings and specifications.
- Conduct field observations and data collection activities.
- Coordinate preparation of design details, plans, and drawings within assigned task areas.
- Develop project design criteria, design calculations, construction details, quantities and cost estimates.
- Analyze technical problems, assessing the feasibility of proposed techniques and procedures, and devising new approaches and alternative solutions.
- Design projects by coordinating with the client, completing each design phase and coordinating the design team, which may include other disciplines.
- Prepare and check design drawings and/or specifications.
- Coordinate with clients to define schedule, deliverables, project implementation, and ensuring quality of work products.
- Review and check engineering work completed by other engineers on the team.
- Actively participate as a member of the staff; participation may include tasks such as training, special committees, or industry organizations.
- Mentor graduate engineers for increased understanding of the transportation field.
- Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
