Site Civil BIM Designer

HDR is currently seeking a Site Civil BIM Designer to join our Building Engineering Services (BES) Group in the Charlotte, NC or Raleigh, NC office. The role centers on design and production of site civil construction documents across federal, power, architectural, water/wastewater, and industrial projects.

• Work closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, and a multi-discipline design team on a daily basis.
• Support the design and production of site civil construction documents for various clients.
• Model and draft site civil design improvements in Civil 3D, including site survey, layout, grading, drainage, stormwater management, roadway, erosion and sediment control, landscaping, and site utilities.
• Model both gravity and pressure pipe networks.
• Ensure construction drawings in Civil 3D adhere to HDR and/or client CAD standards.
• Prepare detailed drawings, layouts, and diagrams within the project scope, schedule, and budget using current 3D software.
• Demonstrate understanding of site civil design concepts such as earthwork, surfaces, grading, and pipe networks.
• Coordinate design with other discipline models through Design Reviews and the 3D coordination process.
• Maintain an active commitment to the employee‑owned culture.
• Perform other duties as needed.

• Understanding of site civil design concepts, industry standards, and practices.
• Autodesk Civil 3D certification.
• Experience with Navisworks, Micro Station, and Open Roads.
• Commitment to active participation in the employee‑owned culture.
• Local candidates preferred.

• Technical proficiency with 3D design software and document management infrastructure.
• Competency in Microsoft Office products and communication tools.
• Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational traits.
• Basic understanding of engineering or architectural concepts.
