About this position
Rise Power Systems designs and delivers industrial solutions and critical power products, including eHouse-integrated systems, metering, power distribution controls, and motor-driven applications utilizing VFDs. We are vertically integrated with SMT, Inc. (est. 1969), leveraging in-house manufacturing to accelerate development, strengthen quality control, and scale standardized product platforms.

- Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems from concept through production.
- Create and maintain 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and product documentation.
- Perform engineering calculations, tolerance analyses, and design reviews.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical engineering, manufacturing, quality, and sourcing.
- Support prototype fabrication, testing, validation, and troubleshooting activities.
- Drive design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Investigate and resolve product performance, reliability, and production issues.
- Manage multiple engineering projects while meeting schedules, budgets, and performance objectives.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 2+ years of experience in mechanical design and product development.
- Proficiency with Solid Works for 3D modeling, assemblies, and drawing creation.
- Experience creating detailed manufacturing drawings and applying GD&T principles.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, and assembly.
- Experience supporting prototype builds, testing, and product validation activities.
- Familiarity with engineering calculations, tolerance stack-ups, and root cause analysis.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
