Controls Technician – Building Automation

Raleigh, North Carolina

We are looking to hire a BAS Controls Technician in the Raleigh, NC market. This role focuses on installing, programming, commissioning, and servicing building automation systems (BAS) across commercial projects. You’ll play a key role in delivering high‑quality control solutions while working directly with customers, project teams, and field technicians.

Responsibilities
  • Install, program, and commission BAS/DDC systems for new construction and retrofit projects
  • Troubleshoot and service control systems at customer sites
  • Verify system performance and ensure sequences meet project specifications
  • Develop and implement control programs, databases, and graphics
  • Complete commissioning documentation and maintain accurate as‑built records
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and internal teams to support project execution
  • Provide technical support, training, and follow‑up for end users
  • Assist HVAC technicians with controls‑related issues in the field
  • Mentor junior technicians and contribute to team development
  • Identify service opportunities and support ongoing customer relationships
Required Qualifications
  • 3–5+ years of experience working with BAS / HVAC controls systems
  • Strong understanding of HVAC equipment and control sequences
  • Experience with platforms such as Tridium Niagara (N4/AX), Distech, or similar
  • Ability to troubleshoot, program, and commission DDC systems
  • Comfortable working directly with customers and in the field
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
  • Valid driver’s license
Nice to Have
  • Technical degree or formal training in HVAC, electronics, or controls
  • Experience with multiple BAS platforms or OEM systems
