- Location: Raleigh, NC
- Work Schedule: Monday to Friday - 7am to 4pm (OT based on business needs)
- Serve as a senior technical expert in supporting the research, development, and testing of electronic systems and components.
- Work closely with engineers to conduct experiments, troubleshoot complex issues, and contribute to the design and improvement of electronic devices.
- Develop and maintain test fixtures for embedded system verification.
- Assemble rack hardware based on schematics, layouts, and instructions.
- Fabricate and terminate wire harnesses.
- Perform soldering and PCB rework.
- Diagnose and resolve wiring and board-level issues.
- Order necessary parts and materials.
- Acquire hardware from the manufacturing line and notify relevant personnel.
- Manage shipping and receiving activities.
- Coordinate with IT to install laptops and equipment, and set up network infrastructure.
- Communicate with the team regarding lab issues and maintenance schedules.
- Execute development test plans and evaluate new products.
- Develop scripting to automate test plans through Robot Framework, Python, Selenium, or similar tools.
- Utilize Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) systems (preferably OPAL-RT) to perform verification of device performance.
- Conduct manual verification testing and initiate automated test runs of device performance in a high-power test lab with hazardous voltage present.
- Comply with company safety procedures to ensure a zero-incident workplace.
- Triage failed test cases and document defects.
- Associate degree or technical certificate in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a laboratory or technical environment, with a focus on electronics.
- Proficiency in electronic test equipment and instrumentation, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and logic analyzers.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a team environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering or related field.
- Strong understanding of electronic principles, circuits, and components.
- Experience with electronic design tools and software, such as schematic capture and PCB layout software.
- Experience with test management software such as JIRA and Zephyr.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex electronic systems.
- Knowledge of programming languages for embedded systems (e.g., C, Python).
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations for electronic design and testing.
- Certification in electronics or related field (e.g., IPC certification).
