Summary:
  • Location: Raleigh, NC
  • Work Schedule: Monday to Friday - 7am to 4pm (OT based on business needs)
Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a senior technical expert in supporting the research, development, and testing of electronic systems and components.
  • Work closely with engineers to conduct experiments, troubleshoot complex issues, and contribute to the design and improvement of electronic devices.
  • Develop and maintain test fixtures for embedded system verification.
  • Assemble rack hardware based on schematics, layouts, and instructions.
  • Fabricate and terminate wire harnesses.
  • Perform soldering and PCB rework.
  • Diagnose and resolve wiring and board-level issues.
  • Order necessary parts and materials.
  • Acquire hardware from the manufacturing line and notify relevant personnel.
  • Manage shipping and receiving activities.
  • Coordinate with IT to install laptops and equipment, and set up network infrastructure.
  • Communicate with the team regarding lab issues and maintenance schedules.
  • Execute development test plans and evaluate new products.
  • Develop scripting to automate test plans through Robot Framework, Python, Selenium, or similar tools.
  • Utilize Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) systems (preferably OPAL-RT) to perform verification of device performance.
  • Conduct manual verification testing and initiate automated test runs of device performance in a high-power test lab with hazardous voltage present.
  • Comply with company safety procedures to ensure a zero-incident workplace.
  • Triage failed test cases and document defects.
Requirements:
  • Associate degree or technical certificate in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a laboratory or technical environment, with a focus on electronics.
  • Proficiency in electronic test equipment and instrumentation, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and logic analyzers.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a team environment.
Preferred Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering or related field.
  • Strong understanding of electronic principles, circuits, and components.
  • Experience with electronic design tools and software, such as schematic capture and PCB layout software.
  • Experience with test management software such as JIRA and Zephyr.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex electronic systems.
  • Knowledge of programming languages for embedded systems (e.g., C, Python).
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations for electronic design and testing.
  • Certification in electronics or related field (e.g., IPC certification).
