HDR is seeking a Senior Control Systems Integration Technical Specialist / Programmer to join our North Carolina team. This position is based in Winston-Salem, Charlotte, or Raleigh offices and requires strong communication, teamwork, and problem‑solving skills.
Responsibilities- Lead control systems integration projects.
- Participate in development of scope, schedule, and budget.
- Program the project control system as defined by the scope – SCADA, PLC, HMI, Historian, communications hardware, etc.
- Execute assigned tasks within scope, budget, and schedule.
- Coordinate with Design, Construction, and Startup team leaders for project control system.
- Download, test, and document control system programs and communication systems as defined in scope.
- Participate in field testing and commissioning of the control system.
- Pay attention to project details and maintain detailed reports using Microsoft Office.
- Be willing to travel as necessary; travel will depend on project/HDR needs.
- Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
- Experience in water and wastewater facilities, oil & gas, power generation and distribution, mining, or other industrial facilities.
- Knowledgeable of Rockwell Allen-Bradley, Emerson GE, AVEVA Wonderware, Inductive Automation Ignition, or other automation platforms.
- Active participation in engineering societies (e.g., IEEE, ISA) and extracurricular activities.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and planning skills; ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong skills in preparing client presentations, project memoranda, and reports.
- Preference given to local candidates.
- Associate Degree in Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in process control system programming – SCADA, PLCs, HMI, operator interfaces, industrial communication networks, and start‑up/commissioning assistance.
